Recall Gavin Newsom Gets Endorsements from Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee, Increasing The Momentum

POLITICO is alternately downplaying, while making a big deal over two Republican heavy hitters‘ recent endorsement of the RecallGavin2020 efforts.

“The California activist movement to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom just got a national shot in the arm from former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, two former Republican leaders who still have large conservative followings.”

This is all well and good—Gingrich and Governor Huckabee combined have a massive following and carry a lot of juice—so, in terms of publicity, this is huge.

“ ‘The “blue wave” that the left-wing media spent months talking about disappeared in California,’ Gingrich said Friday in a statement to POLITICO, referring to Republicans taking back four House seats Democrats won in 2018. ‘This is a direct result of Gavin Newsom’s destructive leadership that has crippled small businesses and sent billions of dollars of California COVID-19 jobless benefits to criminals across the nation.’ ”

Gingrich’s support comes one day after former Arkansas Governor, radio talk show, and media personality Mike Huckabee tweeted his endorsement of the Recall to his followers.

However, according to my sources, money and boots on the ground toward the effort is sorely needed. While the exposure by these political and media heavyweights will do much towards that, it is the citizens of California who must step up and get active.

Mike Netter, Main Proponent for RecallGavin2020, wants to emphasize that this Recall:

“is a bipartisan effort. There is one thing that is unifying Democrats and Republicans: Gavin Newsom. The success of this Recall will trigger and open a conversation on how California should be run.

“Alfred E. Neuman from Mad Magazine, Mickey Mouse, who’s not working in the State, either one could not do worse than Gavin Newsom.”

Newsom’s approval rating continues to sink like a stone. Between the EDD debacle where 133 death row inmates scammed 1 billion from the State’s already poorly managed system, King Gavin dining out at the pricey French Laundry when most Californians can’t even dine out at their local diner, and Newsom’s own prominent holdings and wineries receiving $3 million in PPE loans, while other California businesses died on the vine, continue to erode any last shred of credibility he might have.

“Between the EDD crisis, his businesses—they are not small—getting PPP loans, dining out at the French Laundry,” Netter continues. “And now he wants to spend $80 million on a campaign to get us to wash our hands?!”

His Hairfulness didn’t do himself any favors with the horrific press conference on Thursday where he claimed to “revere” small businesses, all the while pocketing and redirecting the CARES Act funding that was supposed to be used to help them survive.

If this is reverence, I would hate to see his disregard… Oh, wait…

Mike encourages everyone to please visit the website: RecallGavin2020.com (not the Rescue California PAC referenced by Gingrich and Huckabee). There is a green “DONATE” button on the left hand side that feeds directly to the work of the Recall. “Donating directly to the website will expedite the process—because it goes directly to us,” Netter said.

The entire ALL-volunteer team has done yeoman’s work with the funding they have received so far. They now have 810,000 signatures.

“Say we use 0.89 cents a signature. We have raised $500,000, and we have garnered over 800,000 signatures,” Netter said. “That’s a good use of half a million dollars to get the job done. It’s just amazing.”

Netter also emphasized what they really need right now:

Money
Publicity
Signatures

Not necessarily in that order, but all essential.

“If you want to volunteer, contact us. We have leads for every County who can get you started.”

This weekend, the trendy L.A. boutique Kitson is hosting Recall sign up tables outside of their stores in Beverly Hills, WeHo and West Los Angeles.

But you don’t have to travel anywhere to contribute your signature. The petition can be downloaded from the website as a PDF, and prints out cleanly on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. It accommodates 5 signatures, so, sign your name, and then get 4 other friends or family members to contribute theirs. If you want to get more signatures, there is an 8 1/2 x 14 version that you can also print out.

It really is just that easy.

Anyone can do one or all of three of the above. Join the fight—California is ready to turn the tide.

“This is the largest grassroots Recall effort in America,” Netter said, “We have gained 2,000 volunteers in the last few days. People can talk to us, but what we need is for people to step up. It’s that simple.”
