In the aftermath of Capitol demonstration on Wednesday, the left has been using what they perceive a popular momentum to attempt to punish anyone who dares to disagree with their political world view. Two of the main targets have been Missouri senator Josh Hawley and Texas senator Ted Cruz because of their fealty to the Constitution and the novel concept that votes should actually be cast by real voters.
Simon and Schuster has cancelled a book contract with Hawley because they consider his actions to be seditious (read Simon and Schuster Cancels Josh Hawley Book Deal, Senator Responds Accordingly). Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has demanded that Ted Cruz resign (see Ted Cruz Scorches AOC When She Demands He Resign Over the Capitol Riot). Now Delaware Democrat Chris Coons has joined the chorus.
One of Joe Biden’s top allies is calling on two GOP senators to step down.
During a press conference in Delaware, Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), told reporters that Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) “should resign,” according to WBOC, one day after a group of Trump supporters staged a deadly insurrection [“deadly insurrection” what a crock of poop] in the U.S. Capitol.
His calls for Hawley and Cruz’s resignations follow both senators leading separate challenges to Wednesday’s electoral college certification process, echoing President Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud. In his futile effort to overturn the November election results, Trump urged his supporters to descend upon the Capitol and has refused to concede.
You have to love the framing of this. You also have to note the absolute lie in the last sentence…though in fairness, to get to the Capitol from anywhere you would have to descend upon it. Here is President Trump’s speech that has panties filled with ground glass on the left and among establishment politicians, US Attorney for DC Is Allegedly Investigating President Trump’s Speech for Evidence of a Criminal Act.
This, along with various other actions being taken by a newly emboldened left, are just the opening shots is a metaphorical civil war that is taking place. The left, with the aid of a lot of quislings on the grifter right, is going to attempt to paint as extremist and as a conspiracy theorist anyone who challenges the establishment, Uniparty, if you will, orthodoxy. They are going to target conservative activists from top to bottom:
Neither Cruz nor Hawley are in any real jeopardy. But what it shows is that if the left is willing to try and inflict real damage on someone of their profile and power, then they will be utterly ruthless in dealing with those of more humble means.
