2nd Highest Ranking Senate Dem Calls Hillary Out

Hillary Clinton, as a pivotal part of the Democrat establishment, has long been revered and respected for her work in furthering the party and its causes. Hell, she was even nominated as the party’s presidential nominee during the last presidential election, making history as the first woman to receive such an honor.

However, with her loss of that election and the subsequent years, it seems her party is less and less reliant on what she thinks or feels.

And as one Democrat pointed out recently, most would all to eagerly label her “flat-out wrong.”

Before I tell you what he said, I want to note that this isn’t just any Democrat. As Senate Minority Whip, Dick Durbin of Illinois is the second-highest-ranking member of Congress, coming in behind only Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

In fact, he is so respected by the party and most of its leaders that he has been named to possibly replace Senator Diane Feinstein on the Senate Judicial Committee, which is responsible for confirming the next Supreme Court justice nomination.

So what does Durbin think Hillary is wrong about?

Well, as you may know, the failed presidential candidate has given now-presidential candidate Joe Biden some rather irregular advice about the election and its results. Basically, she told Biden that unless the election results in a landslide win for Trump, Biden “should not concede under any circumstances.”

According to her and many other Dems, Trump is going to try to cheat somehow. Therefore, Biden needs to have a legal plan in the works to combat whatever the President has up his sleeve.

She told The Hill, “I think that (Republicans) have a couple of scenarios that they are looking toward. One is messing up the absentee balloting. They believe that helps them so that they then get maybe a narrow advantage in the Electoral College on Election Day. So we’ve got to have a massive legal operation, and I know the Biden campaign is working on that.”

But Durbin doesn’t believe that not conceding is the right plan of action.

He told ABS News’ George Stephanopoulos that he completely disagrees with her.

“I disagree with Hillary Clinton. I respect her, I like her, but I think she’s just flat-out wrong.”

He continued, saying, “The election itself is going to be announced. The winner will be announced at some point. It’ll take longer with all the paper ballots that are being cast, but at some point, I hope my choice – Joe Biden – is elected President. But if we are going to maintain a democracy, peaceful transition through an election is the only way to do it.”

And I have to admit, he makes a good point.

As a democracy, our nation was built on the idea of justice for and by the people. That means that the people decide who leads, what laws are put into place, etc. If we suddenly say that what the people say doesn’t matter anymore, we are no longer a democracy, by definition.

Durbin even points to an example of the opposite, further pushing the idea that we have to stay a democracy.

He says, “Just look at the streets of Belarus today if you want to see the alternative. We don’t need that in America. Whoever the winner is, if it is clear and legal, that should be announced, and the other party should concede.”

Indeed. Just because one party is upset that they didn’t win and thinks that the other candidate will drag our country further into the mud doesn’t mean that they can or shouldn’t respect the people’s wishes. As Durbin says, this is a Democracy, and such the people’s say is the one that matters.

Well, at least someone is using their brain and some semblance of a moral compass.

Hillary, on the other hand, has seemed to lose all traces of both. Might I point out that her advising no concession to Biden is ironic, at the very least?

I mean this is the same woman who, before she even lost the election, launched a covert spy mission into the opposition’s campaign. And then after she broke out of her shock after losing, turned the whole thing around and began a three-year investigation that ended in yet another failed attempt to beat Trump.

According to her, Trump is still the illegitimate President who cheated. She hasn’t accepted the loss, a whole four years later. So, of course, she’s advising Biden never to accept defeat either.

Thankfully, not all of her party is quite as mentally stuck as she.
